It’s been way too long… I apologize! It seems that life got the better of me over the last several weeks and my blog took the brunt of it.
Wait, scratch that.
I cannot tell a lie…
I “Disney’d” and have been in recovery-mode ever since!

It’s the place of magic… the world of fantasy… the place where everything is just supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.

For most people that is.
Unfortunately, it seems I lack the “Disney” gene and I have spent the last several weeks recovering from my first trip to Disney World. Don’t get me wrong, it was amazing to watch my twinkies lay eyes on Cinderella’s Castle for the first time… and our +1? Well his head just about imploded when he stepped into Tomorrowland and learned that Buzz Lightyear was only an arms length away! However, both of those things occurred within the first 24 hours of our journey and I was pretty much ready to board a plane home after witnessing them. Maybe it was the running around and all the fast-passing that got to me… it was much more hectic than I had anticipated that’s for sure! But… regardless of the pace,
I don’t get the bippity boppity boo of it all.
Is it the wonder? The magic? The youthfulness? All of the above???
What exactly is it that draws everyone to all things Disney?
Now, please know that I am not anti-Disney. I love the idea of it, truly I do… the idea that everyone lives happily ever after… the princesses… the enchantment of it all. *sigh* The premise of it is fabulous and it’s certainly fun to lose ones self in the idea of it. Wait…
That must be the magic right? Being able to get lost in the fairytale and imagination of it all?
Ok, you got me on that! I’ll admit to that much… I did lose myself in the fantasy of it.
For a bit.
24 hours worth at least. ;)
Then, pouting children with scowling faces and a couple of oblivious, ‘Disnified’ dads snapped me back into reality…

The reality that princesses, castles and imaginary worlds of wonder aren’t what make me happy. I’m just not built that way and it’s ok… because despite the lack of my “Disney” gene, I’ll take one for the team and will live vicariously through their wonder and amazement of all things Disney. ;)
